Re: Jose Fonte
I bet the two Reece's are delighted, surely it's time to integrate one of them and stop hiring hasbeens

Re: Jose Fonte
Hideous signing on the face of it. We won't see a penny back. Don't see how it's a good move from his point of view either - what's the motivation?

Just play Oxford, we ain't going down or qualifying for Europe

Re: Jose Fonte
Errr, guessing his motivation is money and moving to London.

Re: Jose Fonte
Burke needs to be in the team & Oxford isn't that far behind, please don't sign any CBs!

Re: Jose Fonte
Likely we allow Ginge to go and this will still allow for the Reeces to come through with an experienced international to supprot them

I'll amend my view if details change. He'll be on a fat wage, that's a given. I'm not sure I'd support the signing as a free transfer, let alone £12m.

Mike

I really wouldn't be surprised to see this trigger ginge going to palace or even Swansea

Re: Jose Fonte
Quite a weird signing if you ask me, David Gold banged on about selling on potentials when asked about Defoe, yet he is part of a board that is about to sanction the multi million pound purchase if a 33 year old centre back.

Re: Jose Fonte
This does sound like a strange signing. I'd rather wait until the summer and use what we have until then. Give the 2 Reece's some game time.

The money could be better spent elsewhere.

Re: Jose Fonte
Thought these days were behind us, surely time to blood in Burke and Oxford rather than waste £12 million on a 33 year old.

Re: Jose Fonte
sends out all the wrong messages to our younger players but confirms the short termism of the board. it'd be interesting to know if slaven wanted this cunt or if he's connected to one of Sully's agent pals

Gives a bit of cover at the back , 12 mil though at his age

Re: Jose Fonte
The Sun says £4m. Slightly more believable.

JOHNNY V 2:05 Thu Jan 19
Re: Jose Fonte
Is he better than what we already have, in my opinion he is and improves the team, in that respect I am not interested in sell on value.

Alex V 2:07 Thu Jan 19
Re: Jose Fonte
If it's £4m then I start to wonder what Southampton actually gain by selling? What do they know about him that we don't?

Re: Jose Fonte
£4m.
